Matthew C. Horne was born in Washington, DC and
raised in Fort Washington, Maryland. He is the youngest
of five children, and is the first male in his family to attend
college and obtain a bachelors degree.
Matthew attended college on a full-athletic scholarship
and played four years of basketball at the NCAA
Division I level. College is where Matthew discovered his
passion for motivational speaking.
Playing basketball at the most elite level in college was a
major accomplishment considering many thought he
never would. Through hard work and dedication on the
basketball court, Matthew learned the importance of
setting goals and not allowing other people's opinions to
become his reality.
Matthew C. Horne was offered his first publishing
contract at the age of 22. This is remarkable considering
he didn't know about the motivational speaking industry
until he was 20. His emergence as a speaker continues to
